Welcome!

Welcome to Mrs. Essary's Kindergarten website! Thank you for visiting. My goal for this site is to provide families with some frequent information about our Kindergarten classroom, events and learning. You might find pictures, homework/lesson help or explanations and fun facts about our classroom. Please check in from time to time as I am hoping to update a few times each week. If you have any suggestions for what else you would like to see on this page, please let me know. This will give us one more way to interact and stay in touch from school to home. Thanks!

Butterfly Fever!

Most of you have probably heard, but we have been raising Monarchs in our classroom.  We started the school year with three tiny white eggs on a milkweed plant and just one day into the year, our eggs began hatching into teeny caterpillars.  Their stripes began to show after two days and they grew and grew.  Over Labor Day weekend, our 3 caterpillars made chrysalises and we have been checking on them every day since.  Today our first butterfly emerged from HER chrysalis!  (Ask your child how we know it is a girl?!)  We are hopeful that the other two will come out tomorrow so we can let them all go together.  Take a look at our pictures of each stage (except egg- I forgot to take one of that!).
